Bill Bruton is originally from Blytheville, Arkansas, where he graduated from high school and then attended the University of Arkansas from 1959-1963, majoring in English. He went to work in 1963 for First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Little Rock (later known as First Federal of Arkansas) as a management trainee. In 1964 he was selected to manage First Federal’s new data processing department where he was responsible for implementing Arkansas’ first real-time retail banking system in 1968. From 1972 until 1992, he was a senior executive for operations at three different savings and loans in Arkansas, with intermittent executive-level responsibility for the data processing function at all three. Since 1993, he has been employed at Acxiom Corporation in Conway, Arkansas, where he has held a number of senior-level management positions, including CEO of Acxiom Australia in Sydney.
Mr. Bruton has served as an officer and director of the Little Rock Jaycees and has been a volunteer instructor for Junior Achievement in Conway. He was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Computing in its inaugural year of 2006. He and his wife Lou reside in Little Rock and have six children and ten grandchildren.
