Dan Phillips was born and raised in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, then attended the University of Arkansas where he received his BSBA Degree. He worked for Foley’s Department Stores in Houston Texas for 6 years in merchandising and computer operations. He moved back to Arkansas and worked for Dillard Department Stores in Little Rock for 10 years and was responsible for computer operations, large systems, store help desk and store systems. He then spent 20 years with Wal-Mart in Bentonville holding titles from Director to Vice President and was responsible for a variety of enterprise systems that included applications development for merchandising, replenishment, Sam’s Club, Retail Link, decision support, store systems, POS, finance, payroll, benefits and store and distribution center help desks. He led the efforts for infrastructure-large systems, network engineering, data warehouse, data management, windows, computer operations, development services and IT security.
Dan Phillips joined The Home Depot and the IT team in December 2009 as Vice President of infrastructure engineering, computer operations and information assurance.
Dan has been active for 10+ years with the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville serving on the advisory boards of the College of Engineering, Walton College and Information Technology Research Institute. Dan and his wife Sue have 2 daughters, all graduates of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and one grandson.
