After Joe’s graduation from the University of Arkansas in 1954, he spent 26 years from 1954-1981 with IBM. He held numerous positions with IBM, including: Vice-President of Sales for the Eastern third of the U.S., Vice-President of Industry Marketing, Vice-President of Market Planning, Vice-President of the General Products Division (Engineering and Manufacturing). From 1981-1989, He served as the President and CEO of Prime Computer Inc. While there, the company grew from 350 million in sales to 1.7 billion in sales. Joe served as Chairman and CEO of Legent Corporation (a software company with over 600 million in sales) from 1990-1995. From 1999 until present, he has been a private investor, investing in approximately thirty-five companies most of which have gone public. He has served as a board member for nine public companies and three private companies (past and present).
