Lang Zimmerman is a 1985 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a B.S. in Computer Science Engineering. He is Vice President of Yelcot, a family-owned communications company based in Mountain Home providing local exchange telephone, cable television, and internet service to parts of Baxter, Marion, Stone, and Izard counties in north-central Arkansas and a co-founder and managing partner of Big Creek Golf and Country Club. In 2011, Governor Mike Beebe appointed Lang as a Commissioner on the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
Lang received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Arkansas, College of Engineering in 2005. He has served as board member, president, and chairman of the legislative and regulatory committee for the Arkansas Telecommunications Association. He has also served as board member and president of the Arkansas Deaf and Hearing Impaired Telecommunications Services Corporation and is a past board member of the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce and the North Central Arkansas Regional Economic Development.
In addition to serving on the University of Arkansas Computer Science and Computer Engineering Advisory Board, Lang is a board member of the Arkansas Travel Council and an active member and past President of the Rotary Club of Mountain Home as well as Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.
