Peggy Wilcox began her career in 1973 as the Data Processing Manager at Saline Memorial Hospital. In 1978 Peggy became the MIS Director at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Peggy became the first woman in Arkansas to form her own data processing company in 1983. The founding of Data Tech, Inc. and its success was a major groundbreaking for women in the computing industry in the state of Arkansas.
By 1990 Peggy’s Data Tech had 18 employees and supported over 30 accounts. In that year Peggy transitioned the company to a Certified IBM Business Partner Firm.Additionally her firm specialized in Internet and Web-enabled application programming as well as Personal Computer sales, programming, and service. Peggy’s firm received the Malcolm Baldridge award for excellence in sales and support. Peggy semi-retired and closed Data Tech in 2007. Currently she has one IT based company with the primary focus of contracting systems programming, consultation, and hardware marketing.
