Scholarship/Computer Science Activity Donations
The Academy welcomes all donations to our Scholarship fund, in any amount you wish. All donations are processed through the Arkansas Community Foundation and are fully tax-deductible.
All donations of less than $500 will go to the Academy’s General Scholarship/Activity Fund. This fund is designated by your Executive Committee for qualified scholarships, including campus-directed scholarships, internships and/or conference activities designed to encourage students (e.g. middle school, high school) to pursue computer science and other STEM related careers.
For donations of $500 or more, you may, if you wish, designate either the General Scholarship Fund OR the college you wish to receive the resulting scholarship (selected from the list provided further below). If you elect to give to a specific college you may also, if you wish, designate the name (your own or someone else you wish to honor) to be associated with the resulting scholarship. Important – the recipients of Academy scholarships are determined solely by the appropriate department heads of the Universities receiving the scholarships.
NOTE: The Arkansas Academy of Computing endowment/fund is managed by Arkansas Community Foundation. Your online donation will be received by Arkansas Community Foundation and applied to our fund/endowment. Acknowledgment of your gift for tax purposes will come from Arkansas Community Foundation. Once processed, your gift cannot be refunded.
Three employee groups have set up endowments to sponsor scholarships. It takes approximately $12,500 to endow a $500 scholarship forever. By donating to these endowments, you ensure that AAoC and your place of business will be recognized for a long time. To date, these employee group endowments have supported support a minimum of 5 scholarships, sometimes as many as 8.
