Tom spent thirty-five years with IBM in Systems Engineering, Sales and Sales Management. While with IBM, he worked as Representative for Arkansas State Government during administrations of Winthrop Rockefeller, Dale Bumpers, and David Pryor. He also worked as Manager of Large Account sales in Kansas City, serving manufacturing, distribution, retail, public sector and education accounts. Tom was also Account Executive for IBM’s Academic Information Systems group, covering major Research Universities in ten states and Segment Manager for local government for Midwest and Southwest.
During his career, he was on the Arkansas Government Efficiency Study Commission (1967-1968). He was part of Arkansas Information Systems Planning Methodology (1974). He was part of the City of Kansas City, MO Information Systems Plan Adoption (1977) and a part of Kansas City Mayor’s Technology Council (1982). Tom was also a part of the Consulting Scholar program implementation at the University of Missouri (1986). He was a Loaned Executive for the University of Missouri-Kansas City (1995) and a Chair and Board of Trustees member at Barstow School in Kansas City (1999-2001).
