Mary A. Hunt retired in 2020 after a 42-year career in IT processing for the banking and financial industry. She led projects and managed FIS teams of technicians and business analysts across the US as well as in India, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia. FIS is among the world’s leading technology providers for the financial services industry with over 55,000 employees.
Mary supports events and organizations that encourage IT careers – especially with a focus on women and minorities. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Arkansas STEM Coalition and the Leadership Council for the Donaghey College of STEM at UA Little Rock. She is a past chair of the UA Little Rock Information Science Advisory committee. Mary is President of Pax Christi Little Rock, which promotes peace, non-violence, and social justice in Arkansas and throughout the world. Over the past 20+ years, she has been a guest speaker in multiple IT classes and clubs at local universities.
She began her career as programmer for a bank in Arizona before joining Systematics, Inc. when they acquired the data center in 1978. Mary continued in various technical and leadership positions in Arizona and Indiana before moving to Systematics’ Little Rock Data Center in 1993 as a programming manager. Systematics merged with ALLTEL, and the banking and finance division became known as Alltel Information Services (AIS). In 1996, she launched college recruiting and technical training programs in Arkansas, North Carolina, and Ohio. For the next 6 years Mary led this program while mentoring new hires and developing relationships with universities across Arkansas. AIS became FIS when Fidelity National Financial purchased the division from ALLETL in 2003. In 2010, she launched a new technical training program at the FIS campus.
Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Butler University in Indianapolis.
