Dr. Cronan is a Professor Emeritus of Information Systems and M. D. Matthews Chair in Information Systems. Dr. Cronan received his doctorate degree from Louisiana Tech University and is past Director of Information Systems Graduate Degree Programs and Executive Director of Walton Enterprise Systems. In the past, he has also served as Co-Director of the University Teaching and Faculty Support Center, as the Blockchain Center of Excellence Founder and Director, and as Vice Chair of the Information Systems Department. He is an active member of the Arkansas Academy of Computing, the Association for Information Systems, the Decision Sciences Institute, and the Association for Computing Machinery. He was recently recognized by the Decision Sciences Institute with the Lifetime Distinguished Educator Award. He has served as Regional Vice President and on the Board of Directors of the Decision Sciences Institute and as President of the Southwest Region of the Institute. In addition, in the past he has served as Associate Editor for MIS Quarterly. Publications have appeared in MIS Quarterly, Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Ethics, Information and Management, OMEGA The International Journal of Management Science, The Journal of Management Information Systems, Communications of the ACM, Journal of Organizational and End User Computing, Database, Journal of Research on Computing in Education, and Journal of Financial Research, as well as in other journals and in proceedings of various conferences.
