David worked as Associate Professor in Computer Information Systems & Quantitative Analysis at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville from 1982-1985 and also as Department chair and professor from 1985-1998. From 1998-retirement August, 2017, he has worked as a professor (later University Professor and Walton Professorship) of Information Systems at the U of A. At the University, some of the classes he has taught are Business Intelligence/Knowledge MGMT, Introduction to Enterprise Servers, Global Information Technology MGMT, E-Business development. David has served as the Chair for the Enterprise Computing Steering Committee and as Program Chair and President for the Federation of Business Disciplines. In 2001, he was the recipient of the International Computers Educator of the Year by the International Association of Compute Information Systems. He was a member of Phi Beta Delta in 2002 and received the Distinguished Service Award from Southwest Decision Sciences in 2000. He was also noticed for Service Excellence by the Walton College of Business in 2000. David was the department chair when the first doctoral program in computing started in Arkansas in 1988. He also led Greece Summer Study Abroad Programs.
